PERSONAL INFORMATION

Maxim Kuznetsov was drafted 26th overall in the 1995 Entry Draft by the Detroit Red Wings. He made his NHL debut on October 17, 2000 with two shots and one hit against the Blues. Two months later, Maxim scored his first goal in a December 16 match against the Blues. He played 25 games for the Red Wings that season.
Maxim played three seasons with Dynamo Moscow in Russia. In his first year with the team, 1994-95, the defenceman appeared in 11 games and recorded eight penalty minutes. In 1995-96, Maxim had one goal and one assist in nine games with the club, also appearing in four postseason games. In 1996-97, Maxim won a silver medal with Dynamo in the EHL playoffs. He also played in two games with Adirondack (AHL) that season. From 1997-98 to 1998-99, Maxim was a member of Adirondack, notching five goals and nine points in 111 games. In 1999-2000, the blueliner was a member of the Cincinnati Ducks of the American Hockey League. He totaled 11 points in 47 games.
Maxim won a bronze medal with Russia' Under-18 junior team at the 1994 Mexico Cup.
